When in Maine, one must eat seafood! Right?!

During the last week in Maine, we had some wonderful seafood meals. The best was the soup-type dishes.

The first night in Brunswick Maine, my husband had seafood gumbo. it was spicy and delicious! I was proud of him because he’s only recently become a shrimp eater and claims it’s my shrimp scampi that won him over.

When we finally reached Bar Harbor, we had a little trouble finding places to eat due to it being a Monday night. Many places we checked out online were closed. While this was not a shock (many places at home are closed on Mondays as well), it was disappointing. One place, the Side Street Cafe, on which we had settled said they were open when we checked online, only to get there and have it closed. I guess this is a downside of researching places to eat online.

We headed down the main drag in Bar Harbor and as we got closer to the shore, we found more places open at which we could eat. We secured a table at a place called Geddy’s and were told it would be a 30-minute wait. This gave us a chance to walk down to the water and marina. For those who have never been to Bar Harbor, it is very touristy and bustling. Cruise ships dock offshore in Frenchmen’s Bay and tender people to…
