As an environmental educator who primarily works with children I agree with your three actions. Clarifying misconceptions is slightly harder than the other two but if you can hook the kids into being stewards of the Earth (younger kids), I've found the parents will follow. Years ago I helped my garden club students plant milkweed in our school garden, then we potted up some seeds to take home. Some children returned to club the following month stating that their parents' did not want weeds in their yard! After explaining why milkweed was a needed plant for monarchs, some parents eventually did grow it (or let it grow) in their yard. This is a long winded way of saying that parents sometimes will have their misconceptions clarified by their children! I think your most important advice is to make the information relevant and personal to their own lives. Thanks!
