Do You Think Sending Christmas Cards Is Becoming Obsolete?

This might be my last year sending cards to friends and family.

Last year, I wrote a post on my personal blog, The Apples in My Orchard, about Christmas cards and how they are becoming obsolete. In that post, I write about the creation of our cards, through Shutterfly, and how we hadn’t been receiving many cards in recent years, as we had in the past.

We moved this year, and I wanted to ensure people had our new address. So, last week, I worked on a card. I decided to make it on Walmart’s site this year due to the cost of the cards on Shutterfly.

A Card Fiasco

The card went through several iterations. I had a nice photo from Thanksgiving but one of the people pictured decided to break up with one of our sons five days after the holiday. Ugh — I was actually relieved I hadn’t ordered the cards yet. That photo had to be changed out for another.

I was having trouble with Walmart’s photo center. The store closest to us could not be set as a place to pick up the cards from. I tried and tried. It didn’t work. Then, I decided to try to send the order to the Walmart in the town where we used to live. We had to stop for a dental appointment before leaving for New York to see my parents. The internet…
