Great piece with a lot to consider. I was a student learning advocate for over 20 years while my boys were in pre-k to 12th grade public education.

I especially advocated for the talented and gifted population who are not well served by public education because not enough individualization occurs.

The current educational system is broken and while I do think there needs to be some standardization education has to be more personalized.

I also would like to see a less siloed approach to classes and more interdisciplinary learning. I have many reasons including practical experience for feeling this way.

And lastly, teachers do not get enough human development classes to understand the myriad of stages children go and grow through.

I don't have answers but do hope it changes, as our future works depends on it.
