I Am A Published Author But Have Not Been Verified By Medium

It has come to my attention that Indie authors are missing out on being verified on Medium’s platform. Why? We, as indie authors, are truly published authors too, and some of us (like me) even have an ISBN number!

When I wrote my chapbook of poetry last year, it took a lot of effort. Firstly, I was under a time crunch. I had agreed to participate in a public poetry reading at an art gallery and wanted a physical book from which to read, instead of leafing through loose papers.

Writing, Editing, and Formatting

Many of my poems had been written on whims or used on Poetry Friday for my contribution to that online group. Almost all had been polished by me to the extent that I could but I wanted my work to also have professional editing.

Writing costs nothing. Sharing online through blogs and groups costs nothing. Editors need to be paid. Luckily, a young woman my son when to college with was working as a book editor in Boston. He hooked us up and I had an editor — for which I gladly paid.
