I Don’t Know if I Am Sick or Just Tired
A range of symptoms and two sleepless nights make me think it’s the latter.
For years now, I’ve fought insomnia. And over those years I’ve written about it too (see links later in this post). I thought I knew the triggers that would induce a sleepless night for me. But now, I’m not so sure.
So far we’ve had a busy fall. September flew by with a two-week trip away. We returned from vacation a week ago and started picking up the jobs that we’d put on hold. For my husband, it is finishing the storage shed and the last of the trim work downstairs in our new bedroom and living area. For me, it means some more unpacking, some late-season gardening, and resumption of my hobbies like jewelry making and sewing.
Nothing is bothering me, at least on a conscious level. We had a good trip. Our boys are all healthy and happy, figuring out the world of being young adults. My parents, whom we just saw at the end of our trip seem to be doing alright — helping each other age, still in their own home. And, we had a good vacation. I recently got to visit with some old friends. Life is good.
But, I’ve not slept for the last two nights. Usually, I can put my finger on what’s keeping me awake. And it’s usually something I’m worried about. I can’t say that anything comes to…
