Five days ago, I wrote a piece on a famous American football player being traded before the draft and how I didn’t care about it, and why no one else should either.
While slow to take off, by this morning, my stats look like this:
Most of the growth occurred yesterday or within the last 24 hours. Currently, there are 3.7K views externally and 30 internally. There have been 616 reads of the article. I’ve earned ten cents. That’s it. Ten cents doesn’t buy much anymore, not even a gumball from a machine at the mall.
You know, I wish I could write an article like this that would be picked up by Medium readers and be paid for the interest it has generated. This has happened to be before, a handful of times — without boosting or distribution — just viral reads — all external. It stinks!
