It Might Be Time To Change Gears

We’ve been at our new residence for two years now. My husband and I are settled, progressing on the yard and updating the cabin we’ve owned for almost twenty years. It was a good move, to sell at the height of the market in 2022, and downsize to the Northwoods.

We are away from people. And yet, we’re finding out that the same problems exist here as they did when we lived in a more populated area of Wisconsin.

I am still trying to find a place to volunteer. (I wrote about that this week in a different piece.) The botanical gardens I applied to volunteer at got back to me, and I am scheduled for an orientation.

However, the place is in turmoil right now, prompted by a proposed name change and supposed poor leadership. I’ll still go and see if it’s a good fit or not. If not, I’ll stay through the end of the year and then go from there. But, then, I’ll be looking again for a good fit.
