Kite Surfing in the U.S. Virgin Islands

We had no idea we’d be treated to a show on Sapphire Beach today!

Today, Sunday, was the mid-point of our vacation to St. Thomas, an island that is one of the three US Virgin Islands (USVI). We decided to have a beach day at the resort, which is located on Sapphire Beach.

It’s not the gorgeous beach I wrote about a few days ago (see the link below). But it comes close. The water takes on many shades of blue, green, turquoise, and teal as the sun and clouds hit it and change throughout the day. We spent last Thursday on this beach, recovering from our travel here on February first.

Sapphire Beach has a reputation for being windy. Today, was no exception. We were in our lounge chairs looking at the sparkling water by 10 am. The following photos show how the beach looked at that time.
