Making Travel A Little More Enjoyable with Little Things
A humorous look at how I shorted myself on our last trip to New York. I won’t do it again!
Upon returning from seeing family in New York last week, I noticed that I had failed to do the little things to make my travel more enjoyable. It surprised me because although it’s easier to make the trip now than it was during the pandemic, I missed certain things we did during that time. These were things I really enjoyed or just personal things that made my trip easier.
Coffee
I like my morning coffee. It doesn’t have to be a special brand but it has to be good. I’ll start my day with tea and then go to coffee — having at least two cups mid-morning. I drink it black so I don’t have to worry about creamer, flavors, brands, etc.
But, when I travel to see family, my coffee gets pushed aside. My parents don’t make enough for me to drink — even though they know I drink it, my dad arises at 5:30 a.m. (he’s 86) and makes his usual pot — enough for my mom and him. If I drink some, I short them. So, I go without. I miss it.
