Since 2017, I’ve belonged to another group of writers. This group is composed mostly of kid lit authors and poets. It is a friendly and welcoming group. I’ve come to know several of the participants through poetry swaps that are held throughout the year. During those swaps, we send each other personalized poems and little gifts like handmade journals and bookmarks.

This year, for our summer swap, I sent watercolors to the poets with whom I was assigned to swap. It was fun and advanced my painting skills.

In addition, when I published a book of poetry in 2024, an anthology named Picture Perfect Poetry, several of the twenty-four authors came from this online community.

But just like any other online platform, the Poetry Friday community occasionally has posting issues. This week, it was my turn to experience such issues. The host said she couldn’t open my link. We use the Mr. Linky app to share our posts that are rounded up by the writer who volunteered to host on a particular Friday that fits their schedule. I try to host once or twice a year.

After I wrote my blog and posted the link to the host’s page, she let me know she couldn’t open it and asked me to check the link…
