Rejected Again! How To Continue To Write After You Are Rejected

Pushing forward after your writing is rejected is hard!

For five years, I’ve written daily! My WordPress blog, The Apples in the Orchard, has over 800 followers and 1800 posts. Writing daily has become part of who I am. It allows me to process my thoughts and feelings more completely. I can organize what I feel on the page and explore why I feel the way I do. This has been a definite plus for me mentally. It doesn’t hurt that I like to write, either.

Over the five years, I’ve explored numerous subjects. Mainly I write on education, nature, the outdoors, teaching children about nature, the environment, and other topics as they arise such as moving, travel, and cooking.

I developed a readership on WordPress and now I’m doing the same on Medium. Writing is a great way to connect with others. Some will like what you write and some won’t…I’m an adult and I understand this. I’ve gotten over the need to please everyone. At least, I tell myself that I have.

Some of the forums I’ve joined are specialty forums, such as Poetry Friday. Being part of this group has allowed me to explore my poetic side. I’ve gotten to know (digitally) a few of the poets and their work. But I find that I’m still on the fringe of that group. So, I took the…
