Sharing Parenting Wisdom With Someone New
With my boys grown and living as independent adults, I realized I had achieved a stage of life where I could share parenting wisdom with those seeking it.
The hygienist assisting my dentist when I visited yesterday for the purpose of having a new crown made on a tooth that had a recent root canal was new.
She introduced herself and we chatted as she set up the room and scanned my teeth along both jawlines with a new piece of technology. Soon, I had learned she just had a baby, along with a precocious four-year-old son. And she learned I had three adult sons — all in their twenties, living on their own in three different midwestern cities.
Soon, as conversations do, the information broadened and became more detailed at the same time. Over the two hours, I was in “the chair” we discussed a variety of subjects. Today’s post is on only one of the subjects.
#1 Birthdate and School Starting Age
The hygenist, Cece, we’ll call her for the sake of anonymity, revealed that her son was born in late August when I asked if he was in pre-school.
Ah, I knew where this concern lay immediately.
