If you read my post from two days ago, you’ll know that we are on vacation in the US Virgin Islands, staying on the island of St. Thomas. A neighboring island, St. John, is reachable by ferry from Red Hook. Yesterday, we decided to go to St. John for the day.

We’ve had a beautiful trip so far but there have been a couple of mishaps, one occurring while searching for parking at the ferry terminal in Red Hook. I’m saving those experiences for a future post, but know that everything worked out.

The ferry was fast and the ride was beautiful. We sat up top, so I could take as many photos as I wanted. Upon arrival, we set out on foot to find the National Park office at Cruz Bay, St. John. Did you know that the U.S. has a National Park in the Caribbean? It does!

We wanted to pick up a map. In addition, the trail we wanted to walk was located behind the building. This trail, the Lind Trail, would lead us to both Solomon Beach and Honeymoon Beach.

We had planned our day on St. John the night before. I want to emphasize that we were the only ones from a ferry load of people to walk to the trail. We tend to do…
