Uh-Oh! I’m Talking to the Television Again

Unfortunately, hearing from the conservative right media is part of being at my Dad’s

My dad is dying. He’s on hospice care but still at home, as are his wishes. We’ve spent ten weeks with him between June and January — six of which were between the Thanksgiving and New Year’s Holidays.

He lives in New York and we live in Wisconsin. Approximately, 900 miles lay between his house and ours. We made the trip again earlier this week and are back at his home.

The first day we were here, the television wasn’t on. Yesterday, it was on in the afternoon for two episodes of Gunsmoke and two episodes of The Rookie. In the evening, we watched the first Indiana Jones movie. Don’t judge. My dad is 88. These are relatively innocuous shows.

Conservative media outlets are far from innocuous. They spew one view and one view only, like hot lava spilling out of a volcano meant to maim and divide. There is no balance like they claim.

Today, the far-right media returned to my dad’s television screen. I was talking to the TV within five minutes of sitting with him as he had a late breakfast.

They are feeding the US populace only what they want people to eat. It is hard to swallow. It is even harder to understand.
