What Happens in the City When It Snows

As it turns out, there are many people willing to help.

It’s been many years since my husband and I found ourselves in a city after a snowstorm. This morning, that’s the exact situation we found ourselves in.

Our youngest son lives in St. Paul, Minnesota. He’s an artist — no, really, he is! Recently, he found a new studio space. For the last year and a half, he’s been in a studio that served his needs for painting, printing, and packaging his art. It had good light. However, the windows didn’t open and there was no sink — a bathroom did exist down the hall. It was a nice space in a large building in an industrial warehouse district in St. Paul, about 30 minutes of drive time from his two bedroom apartment.

The new studio is larger, has a sink, and windows that open! Plus, it’s only a three minute drive from his apartment. A win!

Last week, he was notified that he got the space.

Today was moving day.

Last night it snowed.

In the city.

A lot.

As I mentioned earlier, my husband and I lived and worked in cities when it snowed. During the years of our early marriage, we lived in the city of Buffalo, New York. You’ve heard of the snow that place…
