Why Make the Switch To An Organic Wine?

I wasn’t sure I needed to switch and had lots of questions, especially about cost and certification, but I was willing to try.

I like my glass of wine just like any other person. And for years, I’ve enjoyed a glass at dinner time — one glass, as I cook or prepare for the meal.

In my early “legal” days, what seems like eons ago now, I preferred a dry white wine such as Chardonnay. In the last ten years, I’ve transitioned to some full-body dry reds such as Cabernet, Merlot, and Malbec.

But somewhere, I noticed that my skin “itched” after that glass of wine — it was barely noticeable but lasted far into the evening and on occasion, even overnight. The “itching” was on my arms, neck, and upper back — occasionally.

I have a long history of seasonal allergies and was once “tested” by an allergist. The allergy skin testing revealed that I am highly sensitive to many environmental and seasonal allergens.

This includes dust mites, grass, pollen, ragweed, and even cantaloupe melons! My allergies have lessened since I’ve aged and are well controlled by an over-the-counter, long-acting, daily antihistamine.
