Writing on Medium Has Me Perplexed

I’ll tell you why as succinctly as I can — I’m not sure success is supported here — only the struggle to be successful

My views and income are down this month. I know why — I haven’t had much free time to write on Medium or respond to others on the platform.

Why is that?

I just published a book! An anthology! The six-month-plus project concluded today with my successful upload to IngramSpark and was preceded by my upload to Kindle Direct Press (KDP). I’ve sold 14 copies of the poetry anthology in the last two weeks on KDP.

I’m proud of it!

Anthologies don’t just contain one author’s work — but the work of many. This anthology has the work of 25 poet-photographers from four countries on three continents.

What’s a poet photographer? In this case, the poets wrote ekphrastic poems — poems stimulated by a piece of art — the art, in this case, is the author’s photography.

It had to be nature photography.

Their photographs and poems had to focus on nature and be acceptable for fifth through ninth-grade students.

The photographs had to be acceptable for color printing. This meant a size of 300 dpi. I had…
