Yellow, Orange, Red: The Leaf Colors are Extraordinary This Year
Living in the Northwoods has its perks!
--
This year the fall colors are amazing! We must have had just the right mixture of sunshine, cold, and shorter days to make the colors pop! Yesterday, was a particularly lovely day. The large maple trees are alive with color! The blue sky makes them all the more striking!
Likewise, when the lake is calm one can see a mirror image of the trees across the water. This water reflection happened last weekend during the morning hours. It is stunning when the glass like water reflects the colors so clearly.
Being surrounded by bright yellow, orange, and red leaves with the deep green of the conifers is nothing short of mood boosting. Yellow has long been my favorite color and on autumn days like this, it just seals the deal.
Cheerful and bright, the colors scream from the sides of the road here in the Northwoods — look at me, look at me! Aren’t I beautiful?! My response is “yes, yes you are!”
It’s been a long time since we’ve had a fall filled with as much color as this one. Tomorrow, we plan to go to Timm’s Hill, the highest geographical point in Wisconsin. It’s a place that we regularly take guests to when we have them or, like tomorrow, go by ourselves because it’s nice to look out over the hills covered with colorful foliage. It’s not far from where we live and take pride in our state’s beauty. There have been some memorable moments there looking out over the trees.
